SMP 113: Busting Myths With Dr Mike Israetel

Today’s guest is Dr. Mike Israetel. Dr. Israetel has a PhD in Sport Physiology and is a professor of Exercise Science at Temple University in Philadelphia, PA. Prior to that, he was a professor at the University of Central Missouri where he taught Exercise Physiology, Advanced Programming, and Personal Training. He has coached powerlifters, weightlifters, and bodybuilders in diet and weight training. He was also a consultant on sports nutrition for the Olympic Training site in Johnson City, TN.

Mike is originally from Moscow, Russia. He is a competitive powerlifter, bodybuilder, and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu grappler. He has also held several world records in raw powerlifting. Mike is part of the Juggernaut training system and Renaissance Periodization. He is a speaker, trainer, author, and nutrition consultant. He understands the importance of sports performance and proper nutrition including eating sufficient carbohydrates for performance.
