Today’s interview may be with one of the smartest men in the world. Dr. Kenneth Ford is an author of six books and hundreds of scientific papers. He served on the National Science Board. He has a Ph.D. in Computer Science. He is a Fellow of the Association for the Advancement of Artificial Intelligence (AAAI), a charter Fellow of the National Academy of Inventors, a member of the Association for Computing Machinery, a member of the IEEE Computer Society, and the National Association of Scholars. He has received numerous awards and achievements, and has held many distinguished positions including the Director of the Center of Excellence in Information Technology for NASA.

Ken is a scientist who has worked in artificial intelligence for most of his career. He is a Director of a research institute that specializes in enhancing human performance through electromechanical means. Along with computational means, mechanical extensions of human performance, and molecular means. Dr. Ford is the founder and CEO of the Institute for Human & Machine Cognition. The IHMC is involved in a broad range of technology topics that enhance human cognitive and perceptual capacities.

He is also a huge proponent of the ketogenic diet for athletic and space applications. He is excited about the future use of ketone esters. Humans have large brains that require a lot of fuel. In starvation mode, the liver will produce three ketone bodies from fat. They are acetone, acetoacetate, and beta hydroxybutyrate. These ketone bodies are very useful in putting the body in ketosis for physical and cognitive performance. The future use of ketone esters should be able to put the human body into ketosis without starvation or diet methods.
